Junior Professional Officer (Climate and Food Security)

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.

• Collects and analyzes relevant technical, social, economic, environmental, institutional, and technology-related information, data, and statistics to support the delivery of program projects, products, and services.

• Conducts analyses, provides technical input to plans and reports, and reviews or revises technical and scientific documents.

• Contributes to the development and improvement of work methods, tools, and systems.

• Maintains and updates databases and web content.

• Participates in multidisciplinary project and work teams.

• Supports the development of training tools and materials, and assists in organizing workshops, seminars, and related activities.

• Assists in the organization, implementation, and follow-up of meetings, consultations, and conferences, including the preparation of required materials and the provision of information and support to partners.

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Natural Resources Management, Agriculture, or a related field.

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in agricultural water management, including the application of technologies such as Conservation Agriculture.

• Working proficiency (Level C) in English and intermediate proficiency (Level B) in at least one other FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
