Job Details
Develop biodiversity conservation strategies and implement ecosystem restoration programs to increase biodiversity value.
Develop a biodiversity management system to protect endangered and threatened (RTE) species and their habitats to support the PROPER program.
Improve habitat enhancement programs and align tree species selection with restoration programs.
Carry out habitat development programs through forest restoration activities using priority plant species and other native/local species.
Ensure wildlife management and protection of key species are implemented, including monitoring three key species (minimum population levels, distribution, and monitoring of illegal activities within the concession area).
Develop and implement Best Management Practices (BMP) to mitigate Human-Wildlife Conflict in operational areas.
Develop and maintain a biodiversity database based on identification results using ecological principles and calculation methods.
Coordinate across departments and with external stakeholders for biodiversity management, restoration, and HCV (High Conservation Value) and HCS (High Carbon Stock) management programs.
Develop intervention programs to improve populations of protected wildlife and tree species, and prepare data and information related to ecosystem restoration activities carried out by other departments.
Collaborate with NGOs, government agencies, and research institutions to implement best practices in biodiversity and ecosystem management.
Develop and update HCV-HCS management documents based on expert review findings.
Represent the company in discussions, seminars, and regional, national, and international meetings related to ecosystem restoration.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Biology, or Environmental Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of proven experience in biodiversity, ecosystem management, or related fields.
Experience in ecology and forest resource conservation.
Extensive field experience in HCV and VCS.
Strong understanding of ecology and ecosystem concepts.
Knowledge of protected wildlife and rare tree species.
Proven ability to strategically manage large and complex projects, lead and coordinate project teams, and make management and budget decisions.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Fluent in English.
Willingness to undertake frequent business travel to remote areas.
Willingness to be based in the Jakarta area.
